Actor JP Reddy, also known as JP, is preparing to share a story that he believes will resonate with anyone who has moved from a village to the city in pursuit of a better education. The upcoming film, Karki, is significant as it marks the debut of Tamil director Pavitran in Kannada cinema. JP shares his insights on the film, stating, "There are various compelling themes explored in this narrative, such as caste dynamics and the fundamental right to education on a broader scale." Embracing the role has presented challenges for JP, as he recalls, "Initially, when I heard the script from director Pavitran, I was uncertain if I could embody this character. Coming from an urban background, adapting my body language to convincingly portray a local boy was a daunting task. I underwent physical transformations by shedding 6 kilograms through dieting and avoiding exercise, and exclusively wore four shirts sourced from the Gurjari market in Shivajinagar for the entire duration of filming. My appearance and mannerisms underwent significant alterations. However, this is an integral aspect of an actor's craft - delving into the essence of the character being portrayed. Failure to fully immerse oneself in the role inhibits the authenticity of the performance. To embody a character, one must first embrace and accept its essence."
